The automatic-dimming inside mirror relieves drivers from enduring the full glare of headlights from vehicles behind them through the use of two sensors attached to the mirror: a forward-facing light detection sensor, which detects the lighting conditions surrounding the vehicle. and the rear light detection sensor, which detects the light that strikes the inside mirror from behind the vehicle. During nighttime driving, if a difference in intensity exists between the surrounding light and the light reflected off the inside mirror, the auto-dimming feature automatically reduces the reflection rate of the inside mirror to dampen the glare and improve the driver's rear view. Provides automatic progressive dimming of the inside mirror- reducing the glare caused by the headlights of vehicles in the rear view. The auto-dimming function can be manually deselected by pushing a switch on the inside mirror. Improves nighttime driving safety. Reduces eye-strain and driver fatigue. Relieves glare that can lead to temporary night blindness- increased average stopping distances and slowed reaction time. Features an amber-colored Light Emitting Diode (LED) PRNDL console light on the underside of the mirror to illuminate the gearshift area. Provides refined- integrated styling and appearance. in comparison- aftermarket mirrors may be bulky and conflict with the vehicles interior styling. Meets Toyotas high quality and design standards.
